Crystal Palace Sack Manager After 5 Games, Roy Hodgson Set To Take Over

Crystal Palace on Monday sacked manager Frank de Boer, after terrible early premier league performances.

The Eagles are placed 19th on the English League table after losing 1-0 at Burnley on Sunday and failed to score in their four league matches under De Boer.

His only win as Palace manager came in the EFL Cup against Ipswich Town.

The Dutch former football player and football manager, who succeeded Sam Allardyce in June, lost all four of his Premier League games without scoring, the worst start of any top-flight club in 93 years.

Announcing the Dutchman’s departure on the club’s website, Palace said: “Crystal Palace Football Club have this morning parted company with Frank de Boer.

“We would like to thank Frank for his dedication and hard work during his time at the club.

“A new manager will be appointed in due course and we wish Frank the very best of luck for the future.”

The south London club have been strongly linked with a move to appoint former England boss Roy Hodgson to replace the departing Dutch manager.

He has now made a new record of having the shortest Premier League managerial tenure in terms of games, and the 47-year-old’s past two jobs have lasted a combined 162 days.
