CVR: 4.8m Nigerians Complete INEC Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that fresh registration in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) has hit 4,883,658 as at 7am on Monday, January 10, 2021.

INEC disclosed this in its weekly CVR update for quarter three, week 1, released on Monday in Abuja.

The commission disclosed that 1,008,288 registrations were done online and 1,420,954 were physical registrations.

The update indicated that 1,223,984 of the persons are male while 1,205,258 are female, adding that 23,342 are Persons Living with Disability.

The update showed that 1,687,513 of the new registrants are youths (18- 34 years).

INEC commenced the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in 2017 to make voter registration easier and more accessible to prospective registrants or provide means for registered voters who may wish to transfer their registration or have lost their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to do so easily.
