DANA Air Denies Losing License

Some frequent flyers of the airline who alerted THE WHISTLER Tuesday morning said efforts to book Dana flights were unsuccessful and that all its flights were reported canceled without any explanations.

“All their flights have been canceled,” said Richard Ako, a frequent flyer of Dana Air on Tuesday morning after failing to get a booking at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.

Some potential passengers of the airline who went online to book Dana flights were also unsuccessful as all the bookings from last Sunday displayed “sold-out.”

But no Dana flight had taken-off from any of its frequent destinations including Abuja and Lagos since Sunday.

This has led to speculations that the Nigerian Aviation Authority may have revoked the operating licence of the airline and grounded its aircrafts.

THE WHISTLER tried to confirm from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport office of the airline but no one was picking the calls.

The airline marketers also did not answer booking enquiries at the NICON HILTON Hotel Abuja

But a lady who picked the call at its Utako, Abuja office said the rumour was untrue, and that the airline was still flying.

“It is not true and there is nothing like that. I can assure you that Dana Air is very ok,” the lady said in response to a question on the alleged withdrawal of Dana Air license.

She however refused to explain the flight cancellations, insisting that nothing was wrong.
