Dasuki’s Trial Adjourned To Jan 20, 2016

Presiding over the matter, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, adjourned the case after consultation with counsels of the plaintiff and the defendant.

Recall that the federal government had filed a fresh application seeking to stop Dasuki from travelling abroad for medical treatment.

Counsel to the Federal Government, Mr Oladipo Okpeseyi, told the court that he had two applications seeking to revoke the bail earlier granted to the accused person by the court and another application seeking to stop the further execution of the order of the court directing that the passport of the accused person be released to him.

He, however, told the court that he needed time to respond to the preliminary objection filed by the Lawyer to Colonel Dasuki.

He therefore asked the court for a short adjournment to respond to the fresh application, which made the court to fix Monday for hearing of the application.

However, at the resumed hearing on Monday, the court, again, adjourned the matter to January 20.

Dasuki is being investigated over the alleged diversion of the $2.1billion arms procurement contract.

The Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Dasuki last Monday after a three-week siege on his Abuja residence.

He was also transferred to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last Wednesday for interrogation.
