Defection: I’ll Tell Nigerians Where I Am ‘Very Soon’ — Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that in a short time from now, he will announce which political party he would join.

He made the statement while fielding questions from newsmen when he visited Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, for its 4th convocation.

Recall that some quarters of the media had alleged that Saraki belongs to the new Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP bloc in the All Progressives Congress, APC, some others have accused him of sponsoring the reformed rAPC in an attempt to divide the ruling party, while others have alleged plans by the Senate president to defect to the opposition PDP.

Speaking on his defection’s rumour, Saraki said: “As I said recently, when it is time, I will tell Nigerians where I am and I am going to do that very soon.”

Congratulating Senator Adeleke for emerging the PDP candidate in Osun State, Saraki said: “Apart from being a member of PDP, he is a colleague of mine in the Senate. I could see he is popular and well accepted. So, I wish him all the best in the election ahead.”
