Dele Alli Charged By FA For Improper Conduct

The 20-year-old England international could miss the rest of the season from a possible three-match ban, after television replays appeared to show him punch his opponent in the stomach.

Alli has until 6pm today, 27th April, to respond to a Football Association charge of violent conduct.

The incident, which was missed by referee Mike Jones, occurred in the 26th-minute in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at home to West Brom, on Monday night.

Speaking after the game, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said he had not seen the incident, but added: “Sometimes the opponents find him and try to provoke. They know he has a strong character and may react.”

An FA statement on Tuesday read: “Dele Alli has been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.

“The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was involved in an incident with West Bromwich Albion’s Claudio Yacob in the 26th minute of the game last night (Monday 25 April 2016).”

Spurs’ draw against the Baggies means Claudio Ranieri’s side has the chance to win the title away to Manchester United this weekend.
