Dino Melaye Denied Access To Lawyers, Family Members

The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye has revealed that he has been denied access to his lawyers and family members.

Melaye, who is currently on admission at the intensive care unit of the National Hospital after sustaining injuries while trying to escape from the police, further lamented that he has had nothing to eat for about 24 hours.

Recall that Melaye jumped out of the police vehicle when they were driving him to court in Kogi against his wish.

The Police had declared the Senator wanted over his indictment for involvement in gun running by some criminal suspects arrested in Lokoja, Kogi State.

In a statement via his Twitter handle on Wednesday night, the Senator said some of his relatives, as well as his driver, have been in police custody since Monday.

“Samuel Melaye, Moses Melaye, Pastor Obalemo, my driver Folorunsho, one of my lawyers and seven others arrested since Monday by the police still in detention by the police
