Dino Melaye: I’m Yet To Receive INEC’s Notification Letter

Senator Dino Melaye has claimed he is yet to receive any letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, notifying him on his recall from the National Assembly.

INEC on Thursday said it has notified the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, on petition demanding his recall from his constituency.

The electoral body said it received over 188,000 signatures of eligible voters from Mr. Melaye’s constituency demanding for his recall.

Reacting to the report, Mr. Melaye disclosed on Friday that he is yet to receive the notification letter from INEC.

He further urged his supporters to remain calm and peaceful, adding that they will always prevail.

Mr. Melaye is currently in a political feud with Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, whom the Senator had accused on more than two occasions of planning to assassinate him.

Melaye had claimed he escaped death by the whiskers after unknown gunmen attacked him as he was rounding off his speech at a rally in front of Kogi State Polytechnic.

Messrs. Melaye and Bello, both of the All Progressives Congress, were political allies before supremacy battle slammed them against one another.
