China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Lijian Zhao, announced this at a press briefing.

Recall that China has maintained that Taiwan remains part of Beijing.

But, Taiwan has strongly debunked China’s claim, while strengthening relations with America, its ally.

“To uphold national interests, China decides to sanction US companies involved in the arms sales to Taiwan, including Lockheed Martin, Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and Raytheon, and US individuals and entities that played an egregious role in the arms sales,” the ministry tweeted.

The development may not be unconnected to last week’s decision of the US government to further designate some Chinese Organizations.

US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, had on Wednesday, stressed that China could not be trusted in international affairs.

“To ensure greater transparency of the Chinese Communist Parties influence in the U.S., I designated six additional People’s Republic of China’s propaganda entities as foreign missions.

” The American people deserve to know what these outlets are and for whom they work,” he tweeted.
