Dowen College: Buhari Vows Sylvester Oromoni Will Get Justice ‘No Matter Who Is Involved’

President Muhammadu Buhari has finally reacted to the death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old Dowen College student alleged to have died from injuries he sustained after being bullied and assaulted by five of his colleagues who tried to initiate him into cultism.

President Buhari, in a statement by his senior media assistant, Garba Shehu, vowed that the alleged killers of the student would be made to pay for their action.

Dowen College had in a statement claimed that Oromoni was injured while playing football, but the late student was said to have denied the claim before he died.

He had reportedly named those that tortured and bullied him before his death.

In the statement titled “No one involved in the Oromoni killing will be spared,” President Buhari assured Oromoni’s family that his death would be investigated and adequate punishment meted out to those found culpable “no matter who is involved”.

“I share the anger and grief up and down the country following this incident. On behalf of my family and I, and the government of the federation, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the Oromoni family, the government and people of Lagos State and give the firm assurance that this incident will be thoroughly investigated and the appropriate punishment meted out to all those who are culpable,” said the president.
