DSS Drops Charges Against Nnamdi Kanu

The discharge of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), came on the heels of the Department of State Service (DSS), dropping all charges against Kanu.

In his ruling, the magistrate ruled: “The accused person is hereby discharged and the case struck out.”

However, the DSS, which has detained Kanu for over 90 days, has headed to the Higher Court which has jurisdiction to entertain charges bordering on terrorism to take over.

Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the federal high court, Abuja, is expected to rule on the bail application on Thursday.

Kanu’s detention has seen massive protests across the South east and South South by IPOB members demanding for the immediate and unconditional release of their leader.
