Eagles Leaves For Kaduna Today

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will arrive Kaduna today, Tuesday March 22 ahead of Friday’s crunch 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

This was according to the Nigeria Football Federation’s Assistant Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire who said that all logistics have being made for the teams comfortable stay at the North central state, adding that they would train this morning in Abuja before leaving for Kaduna.

Coach Samson Siasia picked six home-based players for the crucial clash to link up with the foreign players.

The six picked players include Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Kalu Orji, Chibuzor Okonkwo, Matthew Etim, Ifeanyi Matthew and U-23 Africa Cup of Nations highest goal scorer Oghenekaro Etebo.

The overseas-based players include John Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi, Aminu Umar, Godfrey Oboabona, Kalu Orji, Odion Ighalo, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, and Aaron Samuel.

Others are, Efe Ambrose, Abdullahi Shehu, Kelechi Iheanacho, Azubuike Okechukwu, Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Victor Moses, Fanendo Adi, Stanley Amuzie, Elderson Echiejile, midfielder Ogenyi Onazi and goalkeeper’s Carl Ikeme and Daniel Akpeyi.

Nigeria will host Egypt for the first leg on Friday March 25 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna while the return leg will take place in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 29.

Egypt top Group G with six points from two games, while Nigeria are second with four points from the same number of matches.

A win for the Super Eagles will boost their chances of qualifying and take them above the North Africans.
