Eagles To Get Match Bonus For Tanzania Win – NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has assured players of the Super Eagles that they will be paid their match bonuses for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania played last Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

This information was disclosed by the federation’s spokesman, Ademola Olajire, in an interview with Brila FM on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles won the game 1-0, courtesy of a brilliant second half strike from striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

According to Olajire, the players will receive their money before the 2018 World Cup qualifier in Zambia next month.

“They will be paid the bonus later, possibly before the World Cup qualifier in Zambia,” Olajire said.

It will be recalled that the NFF had informed the team prior to the Tanzania game that due to cash crunch, the federation would not be able to pay the match bonuses of the players, but assured overseas-based of their return flight ticket refunds.

It was also gathered that the NFF converted their N10 million gift given to the Super Eagles by the Akwa Ibom State Government to pay their camp allowances, a decision that didn’t go down well with some members of the team.
