EDO: Idahosa Beats 9 Aspirants To Emerge APC Governorship Candidate

Dennis Idahosa has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming Edo State governorship elections.

The chairman of the APC primary election committee and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, announced that Idahosa polled 40,483 votes to defeat nine other contestants.

He subsequently declared Idahosa as the candidate of the APC in the September 21 governorship election in the state.

Idahosa currently represents Ovia South/West-Ovia North/East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives

He served as Commissioner for Investment, Public and Private Partnership under the administration of Adams Oshiomhole in 2014.

THE WHISTLER had earlier reported that the APC’s flag bearer in the last governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, announced his withdrawal from the race on Friday.

A former deputy governor of the state, Lucky Imasuen, also stepped down before the contest on Saturday.
