EFCC Arrests 10 Suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ In Ibadan

Ten suspected Internet fraudsters, also known as ‘Yahoo Boys’, were on Friday arrested by the Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The EFCC in a statement by its Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were apprehended for their alleged involvement in online scams.

Uwujaren gave the names of the suspects as Isaac Ogundayo; David Ayodele; Etiowe Kelvin; Seun Afolabi; Saheed Olalekan; Oluwatobi Damilola; Sukanmi Odofin; Ademola Okunola; Joseph Damilare and Abass Sodiq.

He said they were picked up in their hideout at Ajinde Road 4, off Akala-Expressway, Ibadan, in the early hours of Friday.

The anti-graft agency spokesman said:
“Their arrest followed credible intelligence and many weeks of surveillance on the location.

“Several fraudulent documents and other instruments of fraud were recovered from them at the point of the arrest.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.”
