A source within the commission, who revealed this information on Thursday evening, said that the former spokesman was offered bail on the conditions that he submit his travelling passport and provide a surety not below Level 16 in the Civil Service before he is released from the anti-graft agency’s custody.
Abati was arrested on Monday on allegations that he received money from the detained former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Rtd), who is also being tried for mismanagement of fund meant for arms amongst several other charges.
The journalist was detained alongside cabinet members and aides to former president Jonathan; former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Bala Mohammed, State defence Minister Musiliu Obanikoro, the Media Director Goodluck Jonathan 2015 presidential campaigns Femi Fani Kayode.
