EFCC, ICPC Get Gov Ganduje’s N10 Million Largesse

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has donated the sum of N10 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), among others.

Ganduje donated the sum to organizers of the first National Anti-Corruption Marathon as part of his contribution to the anti-corruption fight of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

The event is being jointly organized by the EFCC, ICPC, and the Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN) amongst others, reports Daily Nigerian.

Ganduje, while receiving some members of the organizing committee in Abuja, decried corruption as an evil that must be fought to a standstill in the country.

While pledging his support for the event, the Governor also announced the State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission as an official partner of the programme.

“Before now, people find it difficult to access the services of the agency but we established offices across the 44 local government areas so that the services can be available to the common man”, said Ganduje.

“We also facilitated the recruitment of additional personnel and subjected them to training by professional agencies like EFCC and ICPC so that they can deliver.

“We also ensured cooperation with these agencies and that attracted international organizations to support us in reinforcing our anti-corruption system,” Daily Nigerian quoted the governor as saying.

Meanwhile, the governor’s donation to the anti-corruption cause comes few weeks after he was alleged in a series of videos to have received huge contract kickbacks from contractors he awarded contracts in his state.
