Ekiti Assembly Inviting Fayose To Cover Gov. Fayemi’s Zero Performance – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has said the invitation of ex-Governor Ayodele Fayose by the State House of Assembly is a ploy meant to distract the people’s attention from seeing the near-zero performance of Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

The PDP said the invitation is a witch hunting strategy.

The assembly yesterday summoned Fayose, a former Speaker of the House, Kola Oluwawole, former chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Mr Dapo Olagunju; former Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mr Kola Kolade; and the 16 Local Government Chairmen elected during Fayose’s tenure over allegations bothering on misappropriation of funds.

According to the party’s State Chairman, Gboyega Oguntuwase, in a statement said “The invitation of former Governor Fayose by the state House of Assembly over phantom allegations is an antic of the All Progressives Congress government led by Dr. Fayemi to fool and distract the people of Ekiti State.”

The statement read in part: “The invitation is a witch-hunting strategy and a distraction meant to blind Ekiti people from seeing the near-zero per cent report sheet of Fayemi in his one year in office.

“The governor should instead concentrate on positive governance rather than furthering his hatred agenda against Fayose.”

The PDP chairman derided Fayemi who he said, “refused to honour an invitation by the House of Assembly to explain massive financial misappropriation during his first tenure to now want to use the same platform to harass and intimidate a former governor with innumerable achievements to cover up the history of absurdity and non-performance”.

The governor is yet to react to the allegation at the time of filing this report.
