Ekiti Guber: Fayose Reacts To Fayemi’s Emergence As APC Candidate

Governor Ayodele Fayose has reacted to Mines and Steel Minister, Kayode Fayemi’s emergence as the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State.

Fayose said Fayemi, who got 941 votes at the just held APC primary, will be an easy contender for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate to defeat.

Recall that the governor’s preferred candidate, Professor Kolapo Olusola, emerged victoriously at the PDP primary in Ekiti, polling 1,190 votes against Prince Dayo Adeneye who earned 771 votes.

Fayose described Fayemi as a “flame” that the PDP candidate will quench at the July 14 gubernatorial election.

“I thank the APC for giving Ekiti people a candidate they love to vote against at all times,” the governor said in a tweet.

“Fayemi should not celebrate this Pyrrhic victory yet because it is nothing but a flame that will be quenched on July 14. He should expect to suffer worse defeat compared to that of 2014,” he said.
