#EndSARS: Court Adjourns Trial Of Six Abuja Protesters To Jan 25

A magistrate’s court sitting in Wuse, Abuja, on Wednesday adjourned trial of six EndSARS protesters till January 25.

Magistrate Abdulrazak Eneye presided over the case.

The protesters were arrested on November 6 at the entrance of the National Assembly during protest for police reforms.

Their names are given as : Oluwatosin Adeniyi, Yasiru Bashir, Paul Akinwumi, Abdulsalam Zuberu, Kabiru Gasali, and Davo Chomo.

But the defence counsel, Tope Akinyode, filed a bail application seeking the release of the accused from custody.

In the ruling, Abdulrazak granted the protesters bail at N50,000 each and one surety in like sum.

The court also ruled that the sureties must be Nigerians who can be easily identified.

Recall that the protests had drawn international attention.

Among other directives, the Federal government ordered state governors to establish a panel of inquiry into alleged police brutality.
