#EndSARS: Jaruma Blasts Adamu Garba For Asking Northerners To Defend Buhari ‘Even If Nigeria Is Not Working’

Nigerian sex therapist, Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaruma, has slammed former presidential candidate, Adamu Garba, for allegedly asking northerners to continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration “even if Nigeria is not working”.

Garba, who is the CEO of cloud computing firm, IPI Solutions, had circulated a video he recorded in Hausa language, asking northerners to “protect their honour” by resisting attempts to remove President Buhari from office.

The politician allegedly circulated the video to northerners against the backdrop of the recent #EndSARS protests across the country, giving them the impression that the protests were targeted at removing “their own” from office.

Jaruma, who is the CEO of Jaaruma Empire Limited and a friend to Garba, had placed a phone call through to the politician to ask him why he would circulate the video, which she said was capable of pitting northerners against southerners.

Garba, during the recorded video call, had confirmed circulating the video and made an attempt to defend his action.

The politician confirmed that he asked northerners to stand with Buhari whether or not the country was working, while also confirming that he warned them against joining or supporting the #EndSARS protests in order not to give southerners reasons to insult Buhari and cause violence in the north.

Jaruma also confronted Garba on why he would ask northerners to “protect their pride as northerners so that Buhari will not be removed as president”, thereby inciting northern youths into believing that the #EndSARS protests were a movement against the north.

The sex therapist further condemned Garba for asking the north to protect “their honour” whereas the region has the highest rate of illiteracy in the country.

But responding, Garba said the north was being, “specifically targeted for its unique composition”

Jaruma further said, “the truth is that most of these thugs in Abuja don’t understand English and don’t know why people are protesting.”

She said Garba and other northern politicians might have “weaponised illiteracy” by telling alleged hoodlums from the north that, “it’s Christians trying to unseat Buhari.”

Meanwhile, Garba had also come under heavy criticism after recently threatening Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, against supporting calls for an end to police brutality in the country.

The politician had gone ahead to sue Dorsey for $1 billion “in favour of the Federal Government of Nigeria” for allegedly contributing to recent violence in parts of the country through his support of the EndSARS protests.
