EndSARS: Nigerians Slam Ex-Presidential Aspirant For Attacking Twitter CEO

A former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, has come under heavy criticism after criticizing Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, for lending his voice to the EndSARS cause.

Dorsey had taken to his Twitter page to declare support for Nigerians protesting against the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The Twitter CEO had called for donations towards #EndSARS by tweeting bitcoin and bank account details of Nigerian social advocacy group, Feminist Coalition, which is handling fundraising for the movement.

But reacting on Thursday, Garba, who is former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), criticized Dorsey’s tweet and threatened to sue him for supporting the protesters.

“Dear @jack, It’ll do you a lot more good if you stay away from Nigerian Politics. You should know that the so-called #EndSARS protest have transformed into political agitation, capable of breaking law & order in our country. You should not be a moral & financial sponsor to this.

“I can see you are even sharing a link for people to donate money for this protest, an event capable of escalation beyond our already overstretched security management. If this protest continued to evolved into disorder (hopefully not). As a Nigerian citizen, we’ll meet in court,” he said.

Some Nigerians, however, came to Dorsey’s defense, including Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, who slammed the politician for daring to criticize the Twitter CEO on a platform he created.
