#EndSARS: Ohanaeze Rejects IPOB Leader’s Apologies Over Order To Cause Mayhem

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) has rejected the apologies tendered by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, insisting that Kanu should retract his #EndSARS inflammatory threats capable of causing more problems in the Southeast.

THE WHISTLER reports that Mazi Kanu sought the forgiveness in an interview he had with Dele Momodu, Thursday, over his viral video order to members of IPOB, where he also threatened to destroy government facilities in the Southeast region.

Ohanaeze, in a statement signed by its president-general, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, and the secretary-general, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, made available to our correspondent in Owerri, weekend, acknowledged the need for Kanu’s apologies, but added that IPOB was losing relevance in the region due to some of its unwholesome activities.

According to the statement, “OYC commends Mazi Kanu for heeding to the advice of the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide to immediately tender an unreserved apology to Ndigbo, and should retract his #EndSARS vituperative attacks, inflammatory threats, bogus media claims and retreat from unnecessary violent protests in the Southeast.

“In Igboland, it’s unimaginable and taboo for anyone to speak for Igbo without proper consultative approvals from Igbo stakeholders. IPOB is gradually losing relevance after their failed protests on Monday 26th, October 2020. Yoruba politicians and a Northeast presidential aspirant, through their selfishness, are manipulating IPOB activities indirectly for 2023 buildup to scuttle Igbo presidency project, and it should stop henceforth.

“Nnamdi Kanu should learn from history, especially Awolowo’s betrayal against Igbo legend Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu in 1967. OYC wishes to inform Nnamdi Kanu that his sins have been forgiven by the Igbo youth leadership, led by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro. He should go and sin no more.”

It would be recalled that Mazi Kanu, last Tuesday, allegedly directed #EndSARS protesters ‘to ambush and kill all governors, soldiers, and policemen’. Kanu was also reported to have claimed responsibilities for burning down Oriental Hotel in Lagos, an allegation he however debunked.
