A proposed Virtual Town Hall Meeting between the Federal Government and representatives of Nigerian Youths failed to hold despite massive awareness created on social media.

The meeting, scheduled to hold at 3 pm today Friday, was canceled without any explanation from the organizers.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development had proposed the meeting as a way of finding solutions to the recent outcry to reform the police and end brutality of citizens across the country.

Those to participate in the meeting included Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, Joe Abah, Falz, Segalink, Ministry of Youths and Sports, Human Rights Commission and the Nigerian Youths in general.

However, a few hours before the meeting, Nigerian Rapper, Folarin Falana also known as Falz had withdrawn his participation saying, “I will not be on the panel. I was given a wrong information. Plus there is no need for all this please!! The agenda is clear #5for5 #SARSMUSTEND”

The virtual engagement was to focus on, “Reforms and Expectations; Path to Justice and Compensation; Police Youth Relationship (New Model)”.

Meanwhile, THE WHISTLER observed that the proposed meeting was greeted with a backlash from Nigerians, who alleged that the federal government was making efforts to impose certain leaders on them.
