Enugu State Police Commissioner CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, Wednesday, charged security operatives enforcing ban on interstate travels to have fear of God while discharging their duties.
The CP also warned motorists violating border closures to desist from the act or face the full wrath of the law.
AbdurRahman stated this when he led heads of various security agencies in the state to inspect the level of Covid-19 restriction compliance on the Okutu-Nsukka/Ugwukola border point between Enugu and Kogi states.

A statement made available to THE WHISTLER in Enugu, by the state command’s police public relations officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe Ekea, stated that, “At the border, the CP, while turning back vehicles intending to come into the state, warned motorists and passengers to desist from testing the resolve of the police and other security agencies to enforce the order as expected. He enjoined them to find reasons to comply with all the Covid-19 pandemic restriction measures.”
AbdurRahman also tasked operatives of the police and Nigerian Army manning the borders to collaborate effectively and adhere strictly to the enforcement rules of engagement, adding that, “When you synergize and do the right thing, then we won’t have problems or complaints from any quarter. So be dedicated and resolute to perform this duty with the required zeal and the fear of God.”
