Enugu Governor Rewards Rangers With N50m For Winning NPFL Title
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has promised to reward Enugu Rangers with the sum of N50m following the club’s triumph in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season.
Enugu Rangers won the NPFL title for the eighth time in their history in the 2023-24 season under the tutelage of Fidelis Ilechukwu.
Mbah made the pledge in an event organised to celebrate the title-winning feat at the Government House, Enugu on Saturday.
He also showered encomiums on the players and the entire crew for bringing honour to the state.
Mbah said, “Rangers International transcends generations, acts as a unifying factor to many and so it is not just about winning a trophy and making us proud but putting Enugu State in the hearts and minds of the people of this country and beyond.
“So I want to end by saying that you have made us proud and we would in turn also make you happy.”

The Governor also commended the efforts of the management team led by the club’s General Manager, Mr. Amobi Ezeaku and the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Lloyd Ekweremadu while promising the team other non-cash reward.
“I am going to be speaking with your general manager for those non-cash rewards that will impart your lives and immortalise you.”
Ezeaku in return, appreciated the Governor for his unflinching support to the team.
Rangers have resumed pre-season training for the 2024-25 Nigeria Professional Football League season in Enugu.
