Management of Enugu Rangers have sacked coach Imama Amapakabo, following series of poor results at the club.

Amapakabo, who signed a two-year deal with the Flying Antelopes last season, confirmed on Monday evening via his official Twitter handle that his contract was terminated on Monday by his employers.

“It’s official. Received a termination of my contract with Rangers international football Club by email by 5:35pm. Thank you Lord for every,” he tweeted.

Amapakabo led Rangers to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title last season after a 32-year wait.

However, the Enugu based side have failed to recapture their flying form last term and are currently languishing at the bottom of the NPFL table.

His assistant, Chukwuma Agbo will take charge of the team in an interim capacity until a new head coach is appointed.
