Etebo Joins Stoke City On Five-Year Deal

Stoke City have signed Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo on a five-year deal for £6.35m the club announced on Monday.

The 22-year-old, who was signed from Portuguese club Feirense, spent the end of last season on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas.

“We’re really excited to have got the deal over the line for Etebo. I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Stoke City shirt, as I’m sure our supporters are too.

“Etebo is a very mobile, energetic midfielder and he’s a great age,” Stoke manager Gary Rowett said.

Etebo who was allocated number 8 in the Russia bound Super Eagles team, won Bronze medal with Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic, he will join Cameroon’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Senegalese duo Badou Ndiaye and Mame Diouf in the Potters squad.

He has been capped 14 times by Nigeria and came off the bench during the recent friendly against England at Wembley.

Stoke were relegated from the Premier League in May and are hoping to win promotion from the Championship next season under new boss Rowett.
