Euro 2020: Meet France’s World Cup Winning Squad That Will Battle Portugal, Germany In ‘Group Of Death’

World Cup Champion, France will be battling the Euro 2016 defending champions, Portugal and Germany in the group stage of the Euro 2020 competition which will begin this month.

France is being revived with team players like Chelsea FC midfielder, N’Golo Kante, ending the season with Europe’s biggest club title.

France won the 2018 FIFA World Cup for the second time in history, beating Croatia 4-2 in a thrilling final in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.

In Europe, Portugal in 2016 defeated the host, France by a lone goal to win the competition after an exhausting night at the Stade de France.

The Covid-19 pandemic paused footballing activities and the Euro 2020 competition was moved to 2021 summer.

The football event will kick off on June 11 and the squads for the 24 European teams must be finalised by June 1.

Portugal was drawn in Group F which is tagged the ‘group of death’, as World Cup champions, France, Germany and Hungary are all drawn together.

Portugal named their final squad on May 20 as they hope the 36year-old Cristiano Ronaldo will lead them to a second in a role.

Hungary’s squad for the competition was announced on May 6.
