Europa League: Arsenal Draw AC Milan, Atlético Face Lokomotiv Moskva

English football giants, Arsenal will face Italian topflight side AC Milan in the UEFA Europe League round of 16.

The draw took place on Friday, at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Arsene Wenger’s men will travel to San Siro on 8 March, before a return fixture at the Emirates Stadium on 15 March.

Milan and Arsenal have played six times in UEFA club competitions, with the teams winning two apiece and recording two draws.

The Gunners knocked Milan out at the same stage of the 2007/08 #UCL, scoring two late goals in the San Siro second leg to win 2-0 on aggregate.

Milan overcame the Gunners in the two-legged 1995 UEFA Super Cup, following up a 0-0 away draw with a 2-0 home win.

Atlético Madrid will play Lokomotiv who they drew 3-3 in Moscow in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup. Sergio Agüero scored twice for Los Colchoneros.

Only four clubs in the round of 16 have never reached this stage of the #UEL before – Lokomotiv Moskva, Leipzig, Arsenal and AC Milan.

Final hosts Lyon are the only team to feature in both last season’s and this season’s round of 16.

The games will be played on Thursday 8 and 15 March.
