European Clubs To Miss African Stars As AFCON Shifts To January

European clubs will miss their African stars next season, as Cameroon has moved the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) from the summer to January 2021.

AFCON had always been held since 1960 during winter or early spring, basically due to climate conditions and to avoid conflicting fixtures with international club competitions.
However, it was changed last year as Egypt hosted the maiden summer AFCON.
