Everton Sack Head Coach Marco Silver After Liverpool Humiliation

Everton has sacked manager Marco Silva after Liverpool crushed it 5-2 in a premier league encounter, leaving it second place at the bottom of the league table.

The club announced the decision on Friday following a 5:2 derby loss to Liverpool at Armfield on Wednessday.

The defeat was their ninth of the season, consequently they are dumped 18 place in the Premier League after the third successive losses.

The manager who took charge in May 2018, won 24, lost 24 and drew 12 games in his 18 month spell at the club.

Silva who led Everton to finishing 8 place in his first campaign was hired with the hope of leading Everton to play a more attractive football.

He was reportedly backed with almost £100m (N47,614,000,000) for signings in the summer, but won just four league games this season.

Everton are now searching for their fourth permanent boss since Roberto Martinez was sacked in May 2016.   

The front runner for the job Shanghai SIPG boss Vitor Pereira, however Everton former coach David Moyes’ return cannot be ruled out.

Meanwhile, Former striker Duncan Ferguson has been put in temporary charge and will manage the side against Chelsea on Saturday.

The 42 years old Portuguese has become the fifth managerial dismissal in the Premier League this season, after the departures of Javi Gracia – who had replaced Silva at Vicarage Road – and Quique Sanchez Flores from Watford, as well as Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Arsenal’s Unai Emery.
