Ex Interior Minister, Abba Moro Wins Benue South Senatorial Election
Ex Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro has clinched the Benue South senatorial seat.
Comrade Moro, who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP polled 85,162 votes to defeat his main challenger, Steven Lawani of the All Progressives Congress, APC to emerge winner of the election.
The Benue South senatorial seat is currently being occupied by David Mark, the immediate past President of the Senate, who was elected into the red chambers in 1999.
The former minister won all the nine local government areas in the zone with a wide margin.
Announcing the result on Monday in Otukpo, the Returning Officer, Prof. Aunde Anune, said Abba Moro of the PDP scored 85,162 votes, while Steve Lawani of the APC polled 47,972 votes. Mike Onoja got 29,901 votes, while Usman Abubakar of APDA polled 5,504 votes.
