Ex-SSG Correct, 2016 Gov Poll Was Rigged For Akeredolu-Jegede

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has siad the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Mr Ifedauo Abegunde, was right when he confessed that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu did not win the last governorship poll.

Jegede however said the people of the state would vehemently resist any attempt to repeat that in the October 10 governorship poll.

Jegede, who lost to Akeredolu during the last governorship poll said this in Akure on Sunday.

He said, “Our people have learnt from that experience and are now on their toes, to resist any attempt by anybody to subvert their will.

“I have known Abegunde for a long time and I know he was saying the truth when he said Akeredolu did not win the 2016 election; that it was rigged for him.”

He described the insinuation that he would pursue Akure agenda if he won the poll an attempt to discredit him, saying he is not a myopic person.

Jegede promised he would address the problems militating against the development of the state if elected governor.

He said “The free health services reserved for pregnant women, nursing mothers, elderly citizens and the physically challenged people under the PDP administration are no longer there.

“Our education sector too is in shamble, to the extent that, tuition fee of N35,000 in the institution is now N230,000: thus denying children of the poor access to education.

“If I am elected governor of Ondo State, we will reduce the tuition of not just Adekunle Ajadin University, Akungba, but all tertiary institutions in the state,” Jegede assured.
