Latest findings have shown that the petition which was written against Justice Onnoghen by a group known as the Anti-corruption and Research based Data Initiative (ARDI), was authored by a former media of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dennis Aghanya, it was gathered, served as President Buhari’s media aide between 2009 and 2011.

Aghanya, who is a former National Publicity Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), is also a co-founder of The Buhari Organisation (TBO).

He wrote the petition that prompted the Conduct of Conduct Bureau to file the corruption charges against the CJN before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Aghanya, in the petition, accused Justice Onnoghen of operating domiciliary accounts which he noted as being contrary to relevant laws as stipulated for public officials.

ARDI said its petition became necessary “bearing in mind the imminence of the 2019 General Elections and the overwhelming roles of the Judicial Arm both before and after”.
