Eze: ‘I Can Still Play For Nigeria’

Crystal Palace of England mid-fielder, Eberechi Eze, has hinted he might still play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The dreadlocked attacking mid-fielder who joined Crystal Palace from Championship side Queens Park Rangers for a club record fee of 20 million pounds in August is yet to decide which senior side he will play for as he is qualified to play for both Nigeria and England.

Tribal Football quoted the 22-year- old as saying he could still play for the Super Eagles but is focused on his commitment to England’s under-21 side at the moment.

“I can [still play for Nigeria],” said Eze, adding :

“At the moment, I’m focused on my England Under-21 camp. I don’t want to put any type of pressure on myself and try to force anything now.

“I’m focused on the Under-21s, playing for the Under-21s, training, trying to play as many games as I can, and I think that’s the most important thing right now for my development.”

Since joining Palace, Eze has been instrumental in Roy Hodgson’s tutored side, scoring a goal with an assist in seven appearances for the club this season.

He opened his scoring account for Palace on Saturday at the 22nd minute in a Premierships game against newly promoted side Leeds United which they won 4-1.
