Ezekwesili Under Fire For ‘Taking 169m Donations’ Then Quitting 2019 Race
**Nigerians Say She Is The ‘Real Yahoo Yahoo’
Nigerians have reacted to the withdrawal of the only female candidate in the presidential election, Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili from the 2019 race.
The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN candidate in a statement issued by her spokesperson, Ozioma Ubabukoh, said her withdrawal is to help build a coalition against the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the February 16, 2019 election.
In reaction, Nigerians knocked the female candidate for receiving no less than N169 million campaign donations before taking a bow.
See twitter reactions below:
Oby Ezekwesili
Unblocks people of Twitter
Open a fund my campaign account
Collect tithes and offering from gullible Nigerians
Withdraws from presidential race.
In a sane country @officialEFCC ought to go after her but that can't happen because she acted the script of APC

The endorsement of Moghalu by Ezekwesili has now narrowed our vote for change. Gradually we are beginning to see its beyond Atiku n PMB.

I keep saying that Oby Ezekwesili and all these 3rd force guys are agents of APC. Anyway, now that Oby has stepped down from the presidential campaign, what happens to the over 169M that have been donated to her for elections? Tell me if this is not a scam.

Many were warned of the likes of Oby Ezekwesili in this election.
From Red Card Movement to Summit of the alternatives to PACT, she did not remember coalition cos she believes only she can be the ALTERNATIVE.
Suddenly she wants COALITION bcos coast is not clear for her. ??— Nwagbo, Prince Ikechukwu (@NwagboPrinceI) January 24, 2019
Oby Ezekwesili chickened out.
— King Overdose… (@IamKellyJoe) January 24, 2019
This thing solidifies my reservations about Madam Ezekwesili even before the whole election thing.
Will say it again..Madam switches opinions and circle way more than a chameleon switches the colour of it's skin.

Oby Ezekwesili stepping down is a wise decision for me. Her advisers deserve some accolade.
— dharmola (@Dah_mi) January 24, 2019
The truth is that Oby Ezekwesili was never in the race, she was never a contender at all. It was a wise decision to just back out now and let the real politicians run their race.
— IamEddy (@IamEddy92) January 24, 2019
God bless you Madam Obi Ezekwesili for your foresight and courage. Do not mind stupid negative comments, they do not have the foresight you do. Thank you. We shall together get rid of the evil twins of #APCPDP https://t.co/ugy5y9i9Cq

I hope those who contributed funds for her numerous interviews will get a refund soon. This is why we don't like giving candidates money.

Adamu Garba collected donations from the public, he stepped down!
Oby Ezekwesili collected donations from the public, she stepped down!
If any of the two comes out in 2023, will you donate to support their ambitions? Knowing that donors won't get refund? @adamugarba @obyezeks

So after all the campaign, donations, Debate etc, only for Madam Oby Ezekwesili to withdraw from presidential race today. She knows she doesn't have anything to offer Nigerians, she just came to make small osusu for herself. This people are the real Yahoo yahoo.
— Buhari's sister?? (@DaminaboEric) January 24, 2019
Shame belongs to all of you who are trying to shame Madam Oby Ezekwesili for daring to run for president & withdrawing from the race in the national interest. Big shame. The amazon is simply inviolate. Your mockery can neither touch nor devalue her.
— Emmanuel Ugwu (@EmmaUgwuTheMan) January 24, 2019
In my opinion Dr Oby Ezekwesili is the most qualified among the third force. Who will i vote for now? Maybe i should just go and read atiku's plan. Aunty Oby raised my hope and drop me down. Anyways my respect for her is eternal. It must-have been hard to make the sacrifice
— Tobi Babatunde (@ATOMTGOLD) January 24, 2019
Oby Ezekwesili ever since u left the education ministry you have constantly challenged the Govt. institution, from PDP to APC.
3weeks to presidential tou form a coalition to challenge both the incumbent and opposition governments.— Ekpo Imoh E (@Donn348) January 24, 2019
In as much as it seems a noble decision for Oby Ezekwesili to step down. I don't think she should have declared in the first place… She moderated the PACT event that produced Fela Durotoye as a consensus candidate. That decision/election wasn't respected.
— Remi Jones (@flyboijonez) January 24, 2019
Aunty @obyezeks Ezekwesili knew she wasn't going to contest, that's why she did not capaingn anywhere outside twitter, no campaign office, no campaign council, and she must have probably recieved donations from different people and organizations.
Will she return these funds ?
— Oluyemi Fasipe?? (@YemieFASH) January 24, 2019
Can't say am surprised Oby Ezekwesili stepped down from the race. I know it was prearranged to happen. This story of forming a coalition is just her way of covering things up. All this her agidi na wash!
— Natch❄ (@Da_Natch) January 24, 2019
EFCC should invite her for questioning about what will be done with her (Oby Ezekwesili) campaign donnations
— Abel Innocent (@Innobel99) January 24, 2019
I have always believed that leadership is about service & sacrifice & today, I would like to commend Dr. (Mrs) Oby Ezekwesili @obyezeks for leading the charge to forming a viable coalition to presenting a Consensus Candidate for the 2019 Presidential elections. pic.twitter.com/t0CpW067tG
— FelaDUROTOYE (@feladurotoye) January 24, 2019
I commend Dr.Oby Ezekwesili for this noble decision!Knowing that there is no way we can kick these old men out of our political space,I will urge other young aspirants to support Kingsley Moghalu because he is more practical and well prepared for the top job!His book says it all!
— Udoh (@Udocas2017) January 24, 2019
Oby Ezekwesili i just remembered that our girls are not yet back…go and complete the project.
