Falz Blows Hot Over Killing Of NYSC Member By Policeman

Nigerian rapper, actor, songwriter and a trained lawyer Folarin Falana, professionally known as Falz has reacted to the incident that took the life of a female corps member on Wednesday.

It was earlier reported that a corps member, Linda Angela Igwetu, who was meant to pass out on Thursday, July 5th, was shot dead by a trigger-happy policeman identified as Benjamin Peters in Abuja.

According to information posted by Sega L’eveilleur on Twitter, the late Igwetu was returning from where she went to celebrate her passing out with other colleagues when the policeman shot at their car and the deceased was hit.

Igwetu who bled to death, was said to have sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to Garki hospital but was denied treatment because there was no police report authorizing them to treat her gunshot wound.

Reacting to the terrible actions by the hospital, falz who is a trained lawyer said the action is awful as the hospital has no right to deny anybody including armed robber treatment.

Confirming the incident, Police spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said that the command was investigating the incident.

In his reaction, Falz wrote, “This country ehn. I really don’t grab. Sigh.

“If somebody has a gunshot wound and they are brought to your hospital, you are supposed to treat them, not ask for any f*cking police report.

“Even if na suspected armed robber, who are you to deprive them of the right to stay alive? Let the court pass judgment.”
