Family Of DELSU Undergraduate Killed By Ritualists Gets N6m

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has handed N6million cheque to the family of an undergraduate of Delta State University (DELSU), Elozino Ogege, who was reportedly killed last year by ritualists in the state.

Late Ogege’s family received the donation from Governor Okowa on Thursday.

The deceased, who was a 300-level student of Mass Communication in DELSU, was reportedly killed by ritualists on November 15, 2018.

The donation was made on behalf of Okowa by his Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edevbie, in Asaba, the state capital.

The governor promised to improve the security situation in the state, while also decrying the incidents that led to Elozino’s death.

“What happened to late Miss Elozino Ogege last year is so unfortunate and heartbreaking; it tells us that all is not well in our society.

“This is why we are doing everything possible as a government to improve security in the state and ensure that security challenges are effectively tackled,’’ the governor said.

Responding on behalf of the family, the mother of the deceased, Mrs. Elizabeth Ogege and Rt. Rev. John Aruakpor, Bishop, Diocese of Oleh, Anglican Communion, thanked Okowa for the compassion and financial assistance.
