Fani-Kayode To ‘Haters’: Joining APC Doesn’t Give Immunity Against Arrest

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former aviation minister, has insisted that he was not arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Fani-Kayode described those reporting his arrest by the anti-graft as ‘haters’.

The ex-minister took to his social media pages for the second time within hours to react to reports of his arrest over alleged forgery of medical reports to enable him evade his ongoing fraud trial.

“I pity those that said I was arrested. They are filled with hate and live on fake news. Since when did an invitation and a friendly chat become an arrest?” Fani-Kayode queried.

“And even if I had been arrested, SO WHAT? I am not above the law and neither does joining APC give me immunity. My God is MIGHTY!” he added.

The former minister had earlier said that he was “granted bail on self recognition” after honouring an invitation by the Lagos State zonal office of the EFCC.

There were speculations that he had joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to evade his N4.6 billion fraud trial by the EFCC.

The former critic of President Muhammadu Buhari joined the APC in September, after years of relentless criticism of the president and the ruling party.
