Fans Tear Each Other Apart Over Gulder’s Choice Of Toke Makinwa As Host Of Ultimate Search

Following the announcement of Toke Makinwa as anchor for the 2021 edition of Gulder Ultimate Search, themed “The Age of Craftsmanship” the vlogger has received some backlash from Nigerians who believed Kate Henshaw would have been a better choice because of her physique.

Makinwa was unveiled last Saturday, after the organisers tasked over 67,000 Instagram followers to guess who the new host for the show would be.

The Organizers said, “Meet the Anchor’, It’s about time, the age of craftsmanship is upon us and @tokemakinwa is ready for the journey. Welcome to the #GulderUltimateSearch.”

Makinwa who confirmed the announcement said, “The council of Elders called and I answer. The age of Craftmanship is finally upon us. My name is Toke Makinwa. I am the anchor of the Gulder Ultimate Search – The Age of Craftmanship. Now let the adventures begin. Gulder Ultimate Search is back and guess who your host of the season is?

“You guessed correct. The TM season is fully on. The council of elders called, the age of Craftsmanship is finally upon us, see you at the jungle.”

However, the announcement has since then generated a lot of troll from Nigerians who questioned the choice of Makinwa instead of Chidi Mokeme, Bob Manuel who have anchored the show for long, or Kate Henshaw due to her fitness.

But others said that the choice of Makinwa was good for the show since she has paid her dues in the entertainment industry.

“I’m still wondering if it’s gossip they’ll be doing in this edition of GUS. Call it hate or whatever you like, but GUS is a show that depicts character and strength and Toke Makinwa’s personality doesn’t fit in.”

@IamTheIroko said, “Toke Makinwa for Gulder Ultimate search when we have fitness queen Kate Henshaw? Kate Henshaw is more suited a Gulder Ultimate search anchor.”

“How many people know Toke on TV versus Kate Henshaw or didn’t you have a childhood?” @Tyek000n said.

@FunkeOnafuye said, “You people don’t want to admit that you disapprove of Toke Makinwa as the host of GUS because of your personal biases. Basing your arguments on fitness and energy is ridiculous and you’re better off just saying that you don’t like her.”

“Can Kate Henshaw get on her knees to get the job? Leave Toke alone, she has paid her dues,” @IamTheIroko said sarcastically.

@Nyinye4 also said, “TV show has Kate anchored in the past? She’s not as good as Toke who has been in the game for long so Kate isn’t any match. Forget fitness enthusiast.”

“But ultimate search is not a fitness show, it’s a treasure hunt reality show. I haven’t seen any argument of why it shouldn’t be Toke that I’ve agreed with,” @yojora said.
