Fashola Detains Labour Leader For Protest Over Poor Working Condition

The protest which had started since yesterday is ongoing as at the time of filing this report.

The detained labour leader is believed to have been taken away on the orders of the minister, Babatunde Fashola and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Abubakar Magaji, in order to cow the protesting staff.

Before the resumption of work, the staff had allegedly disconnected the building from the main electricity supply thereby grinding to a halt all official activities in the ministry.

The workers are calling for the removal of Magaji who was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior when the ill-fated immigration scandal broke where hundreds of Nigerian graduates lost their lives.

Efforts made to have an official side of the report yet to yield any result. Even staff who are protesting are not speaking to journalists on what triggered the current crises in the ministry.
