Fayose: If Northern Govs Were Allowed To Resolve Arewa’s Threats, Why Military For IPOB?

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has frowned at the recent deployment of military to South-East Nigeria.

Fayose, who spoke via his verified Twitter handle, wondered why the Federal Government opted for military force against Biafra agitators, when it allowed Northern governors resolve threats by Arewa Youths against Igbo in the region.

“If northern governors were allowed to resolve the Arewa youths threat that that Igbo should leave the north, why not allow south-governors to resolve Kanu’s?

“For whatever reasons, the FG should have allowed the south-east governors to interface with Kanu and resolve issues instead of this show of force,” he said.

Governor Fayose also criticised the situation where citizens “now celebrate” the news of President Muhammadu Buhari presiding over the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting.

“Sign that all is not well is a situation where a president presides over the FEC meeting and it becomes a breaking news,” Fayose tweeted in the wee hours of Thursday.

“Funny, we now celebrate news of our President presiding over FEC meeting as a great achievement?” the governor wondered.
