FCT Leads As Nigeria Records 481 New COVID-19 Infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 481 new COVID-19 cases in the country, as total infections from the virus climbed to 42,689. 

The NCDC made this known on its official twitter handle on Thursday.

According to figures announced by the agency on Thursday night, the country had successfully treated a total of 19,270 Covid-19 patients, while fatalities from the virus stood at 878. 

The NCDC said the new infections were recorded in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory. 

A breakdown of the new infections were given as: FCT-96, Lagos-89, Plateau-68, Ogun-49, Edo-44, Rivers-43, Oyo-25, Osun-23, Delta-15, Enugu-11, Kano-7, Kaduna-7, Bauchi-2, Bayelsa-1 and Yobe-1.

The health agency had warned on Wednesday that, “travelling during the COVID-19 pandemic can increase your risk of getting infected.

“TakeResponsibility and adhere to COVID-19 preventive measures,” it said.
