According to Bello, such palliatives would help to reduce the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown on the livelihood of the vulnerable people, who are living in the capital city.

On his part, while making the donation of  6000 bags of 5kg rice, 600 bags 50kg flour and 500 cartons of noodles, the Lebanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Houssam Diab noted that it his country’s responsibility to assist the government of Nigeria to fight the virus.

Since the outbreak of the disease in the country in February this year, Nigeria has over 1180 confirmed cases of the virus, with about 35 deaths so far recorded.

The federal government has since declared close to a month lockdown in three states of Lagos, Ogun and Abuja in order to contain its spread.
