Recall that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) had on Sunday, visited victims of Saturday’s flooding in the area.

The Director, Planning, Research and Forecasting, NEMA, Kayode Fagbemi, stressed that the flood was due to obstruction by buildings situated on waterways.

“We still want to educate people that live on waterways to move because this is just July and we will still have more rainfalls,” he said.

FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), had also confirmed that five people died as a result of the flooding.

Based on the pictures floated by the Minister, cartons of noodles were part of the palliatives.

“Yesterday, I visited Gwagwalada flood victims and the flood site.

“I extend palliatives to them on behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) while tasking residents to stay off the waterways in order to prevent future occurrence.”
