Feb Polls: Come Out, Watchfully Cast Your Votes, Rivers PDP Urges Citizens

The Rivers people have been urged to come out en masse and vote the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP during Saturday’s presidential election.

Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the PDP, Bro Felix Obuah who charged eligible voters across the state, urged them to put behind the disappointment of last week’s postponed elections.

A statement signed by Jerry Needam, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Bro. Obuah, on Thursday further said that the Rivers people should watchfully cast their votes during the election.

Bro Obuah argued that nothing great ever comes easy but expressed optimism that in the end, the will of the people shall prevail.

He said, “Though it may be a sort disturbing now, the joy of it is that after the exercise the people will have responsible, caring and altruistic leaders to manage their affairs for the good of the greater majority of the Rivers citizens.

“I therefore humbly enjoin you not to be deterred or demoralized. See it as a duty you owe to yourself and the future of our dear State to come out on time on Saturday and quietly but watchfully cast your votes.

“It’s not threats, not the antics of the opposition nor the plots of the enemies that kill us. It is the decisions we make and the actions we take against our collective interests.

“So ‘shine’ your eyes and remember the future of your children for a better life, adequate security, food on the table of all, among others as you vote on Saturday, February 23 and Saturday, March 9,” Bro Obuah advised.
