The federal government has declared December 25, 28 and January 1, 2021 as public holidays to enable Nigerians celebrate the Christmas and the New Year festivities.

The ministry urged Nigerians to be optimistic about year 2021, adding that it would be a better year.

The ministry’s position may not be unconnected to the hardship inflicted on the country and the rest of the world due to the covid-19 pandemic, insecurity and other unsavory incidents.

It asked Nigerians to pray for the country at such a time as this.

“While admonishing all Nigerians to remain focused, determined, patient and patriotic, Aregbesola expressed confidence that the year 2021 would be a better year for all Nigerians and therefore urged Christians to use the period to pray for Nigeria.

“He wished all Nigerians and Christians in particular, a happy Christmas and New Year Celebrations,” the ministry stated in a tweet.
