FG Bars Non-Taxpayers From Applying For 5,000 Housing Units

Nigerians who do not pay tax are not eligible to apply for the 5,000 housing units built by the Ministry of Works and Housing under the National Housing Programme.

The Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, had last week revealed that Nigerians could apply for houses built by the FG.

A portal- ‘https://nhp.worksandhousing.gov.ng,’ was formally launched to enable Nigerians to apply for the housing units.

The cheapest building is a one bedroom flat with a price of N7,222,404, while others are selling at N9,268,752, N13,241,074 and N16,491,155.8 across the country.

But the ministry has revealed on the portal that the buildings are restricted to Nigerians who meet their tax obligation.

The requirement affects both those paying on instalment and those seeking for outright purchase.
