The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; and the Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Muhammadu, have been directed to relocate to the North East.
In a statement by the Presidency, the directive was given by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the Police boss and his NSCDC counterpart are upon arrival in the North East meet with the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole.

The security chiefs are also expected to hold talks with governors of Yobe, Borno and Adamawa States, so as to ensure deployment of personnel to all schools in liberated areas of the states.
The development comes a week after Boko Haram insurgents invaded Government Girls’ Science Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State and abducted 110 students.

The Minister said that the directive has become necessary to forestall a re-occurrence of the attack on innocent school children.
